When
should I consider a Used Lift?
- Usage
Guidelines
We advise our customers to consider used for usage up to but not
exceeding 4 hour meter hours per day or 80 hours per month. Additionally,
if they are currently below this limit but expect their business levels
to rise quickly, the cost of leasing a new piece of equipment should
be compared to the used acquisition cost. Your Oram
Account Manager
is trained to help you with this evaluation.
- Stand
By Equipment
An Oram reconditioned unit makes an excellent stand by or back up
piece of equipment to insure productivity in a high use or multi shift
application where slowing down production is not acceptable.
- Fleet
Standardization
If you have a satisfactory fleet of previous production units of
the same model providing high operator acceptance, it may be appropriate
to avoid new model introduction to the fleet. Assuming the usage parameters
are appropriate, a reconditioned unit identical to those in current
service may be preferable.

What
does "Reconditioned" mean?
All Oram Certified
Reconditioned units undergo a rigorous, standardized process, developed
to assure consistent quality and safety. Beginning with our inspection,
malfunctioning parts or systems are repaired or replaced with new or rebuilt
components. Each truck is given a durable new factory paint scheme with
all applicable safety decals. All seats have required operator restraint
systems installed. Tires are 80% or better. New tires are noted in the
detailed equipment description.

Which
lift trucks qualify?
- All units MUST
pass the Qualification Sheet and be approved by the Used Truck Manager.
- Candidates must
not have frame damage or chassis modifications.
- Trucks must be
current or immediately previous production models with popular specifications.
Where
do they come from?
- Rental
Operations
Oram rents a lot of fine Nissan, Linde, Barrett, Schaeff and Tailift
lift trucks. Our best used truck candidates come from our extensive
long and short term rental operations. These Oram owned rentals, purchased
new from the factory, have always been under Oram Factory Trained Service
Care and are strategically retired from the fleet with significant economic
life remaining.
- Lease
Returns
Upon lease completion, many customers elect to return units and
lease new ones. The lease returns are then available for resale after
Certified Reconditioning.
- Demonstration
Models
The Oram Sales Department will often offer demonstrator units for
sale as near new used units. These commonly still have a portion of
the manufacturer's new warranty remaining.
- Trade-in
Customers frequently trade in their lift trucks after they acquire
new equipment. Only about 20% of these qualify for Oram Certified Reconditioning.
