The rental program at Oram has developed into one of the most beneficial to our customers. Throughout the year we track the most common lifts sold and rented to formulate the make-up of our rental fleet. This process allows us to have the rental lift truck needed the majority of the time. To better serve our customers we offer both short term and long term rentals. When looking for a rental company the most common features Oram customers look for are availability and quality. Orams ability to meet these features has generated a return rental customer ratio of 95%. The rental department also offers special services for customers. Oram has a corporate fleet of over 550 rental units including LP Gas, Diesel and Electric lift trucks with cushion or pneumatic tires ranging from 3,000 - 15,500 lbs capacity. We offer daily, weekly or four week period rentals. The Oram rental fleet also consists of the following:
Oram customers generally need a rental lift truck at the time they call. Oram has a standard practice of same day delivery. At Oram all customers are treated to the same quality of service whether a one day or one month renter. It is the goal at Oram to assist customers in decreasing down time and costs by providing the lift truck most suitable to their application. The Oram rental staff utilizes its 23 years of experience to assist their customers in getting the best rental unit for the job. What you need to know to rent a lift truck… To determine the lift truck your application requires you must know the weight and dimensions of the product you wish to move. The weight of the product will determine the size of lift truck you need. Each lift truck is given a capacity rating stating the maximum weight it can safely lift. Exceeding the capacity rating can cause tipping of the unit resulting in injury to personnel. The dimensions of the product will help establish the proper fork length needed to lift it. If the inappropriate forks are used the load could be dropped resulting in injury or product damage. Contact the manufacturer, look in the product manual or call someone to assist you. The right information is the only way to ensure the correct lift truck is used resulting in safety for you and your employees. There are two things you need to consider when determining lift height. First, what is the final location of the product? Will the product be set in a pallet position on rack? How high will the load need to be lifted? This will help in getting a mast that will lift the load to the proper height. Second, where is the forklift expected to travel? Will it go through doorways? Is it going into a trailer? Knowing where the lift will travel will help you get around in the areas you need. Remember not all lift trucks are the same size and some will not fit through certain door dimensions or in the trailer of a semi. Know the dimensions of the doors in your establishment. The terrain of your application will determine the type of tires you require. There are primarily two options cushion tires and pneumatic tires. Cushion tires are made of a hard rubber compound. If your application is indoors and your floor consists of a hard concrete surface then the cushion tire lift truck is the one you need. Pneumatic tires have deep traction groves. If your application is outdoors or if the lift will travel in wet or rough conditions then the pneumatic lift truck is the one you need. It is important to have the right tires. The wrong type will result in lack of productivity. A cushion tire lift will not have the traction needed for rough terrain and will spin in a wet environment. A pneumatic tire lift will leave marks and are not always as maneuverable in an indoor environment.
Oram is pleased to offer an intelligent alternative to conventional equipment ownership through a program called Advantage. Advantage is a program that offers all the advantages of equipment ownership without any of the headaches. The most prominent features of the Advantage program are lower costs, equipment maintenance and minimized breakdown. The Advantage Program is designed specifically for each customer. The Oram Customer Satisfaction Manager (CSM) surveys the customer's application. The CSM then works with the customer and their staff to determine the optimum equipment, parts and service support required. The CSM then designs a single rental agreement that meets the customer's individual needs. Oram also offers fleet flexibility when your requirements change. Since there is no third party finance company involved Oram can switch out a piece of equipment for another when the need arises. Oram pays for maintenance, repairs (except accidental damage), travel time, parts and replacement equipment if the Advantage unit can't be promptly repaired. Additionally, workman's compensation and liability insurance with a $10 million umbrella are included for the customer's protection.
How Well Is The Equipment Maintained? Within the Advantage Program the equipment remains the property of Oram. Professional, constant care is very much in our interest as well as yours. The key to successful fleet management is the absolute avoidance of unscheduled breakdown service calls. Our years of experience have taught us how to minimize breakdown.
