Bendi Narrow Aisle Forklift

Finally, a turn in the right direction!

Flexibility

When you want flexibility in a very narrow aisle lift truck, the Bendi is the solution. The Bendi, built by Landoll Corporation in Marysville Kansas, is the "world's first 180° front-wheel-steered" lift truck, capable of getting the job done, within the narrowest of aisles. With a Bendi, the operator is given the "flexibility of a counterbalanced truck, with the narrow aisle capabilities of a reach truck." This forklift can work effectively on the dock for trailer loading and unloading, go directly from manufacturing or dock areas to and from narrow aisle storage without staging, while offering the superb ergonomics, speed, safety and comfort of a sit down counterbalanced truck.

Lift Heights to 26'

  • 2500 to 4500 lbs. Capacities
  • 48 Volt Operation
  • Works with most hydraulic attachments including:
    • Push/Pulls
    • Carton Clamps
    • Paper Roll Clamps

The new Bendi Series III has mast tilt and is available with three stage or four stage masts with lift heights up to 26'. This gives the Bendi high stacking ability - while allowing the low mast height necessary to work in highway trailers or travel through low doorways and under low obstructions.

Bendi History

The patented Bendi forklift brings a new solution to the materials handling problem. It is a genuine multi- functional narrow aisle forklift incorporating the operational characteristics of a conventional sit down counterbalanced truck.

Forklift Operating Aisle Comparison

The Bendi forklift was designed and patented in the early 1980's by Fred Brown of Translift Engineering Ltd., Redditch, England. It was conceived as a compromise between a reach truck, a turret truck, and a conventional sit down counterbalanced front loading forklift.

In the early 1990's Fred Oram was approached by the group that purchased the patent rights to the Bendi for the North American market. They were seeking a U.S. manufacturer, with government contract experience, that would be willing to take an equity position. Fred Oram introduced them to his longtime customer and friend Don Landoll, President of Landoll Corporation. Don purchased the patents and improved the design to become the Bendi Series III models operated by hundreds of customers throughout the world today.

Operation

The Bendi, unlike many reach, turret and other Very Narrow Aisle trucks, is simple to operate such that an operator is immediately productive. The operator has an unobstructed view of the load and forks from the side.

The unique feature of this forklift is it's central front articulation. This allows the front steerable load to turn fully to the right or left - a total of 180 degrees - allowing the forklift to operate in aisles as narrow a 6 feet, thereby maximizing warehouse speace. Although other vehicles (articulated loaders, rough terrain articulated forklifts) have center point articulated steering, the Bendi is unique to all vehicles in that the articulation is a full 180 degrees, 90 degrees left or right. Most importantly, the Bendi maintains full stability, traction, and control in the side pivoted positions: an industry first!

The simplicity of design to achieve this full 180 degree articulated feature is less expensive and less complicated than competitive designs of the past.

The Bendi is a real warehouseman's forklift, one that is totally unique, differentiated from any other, cost effective, space effective, and highly productive.
