ORAM GOES
GREEN
Oram Material Handling Systems
has committed to"Going Green" by implementing the following programs:
- Recycling oil with the
purchase of two waste-oil burning furnaces. One of these furnaces
heats Oram's South Shop in Kansas City, and the other our branch location
in St. Joseph, Missouri.
- Recycling printer and
fax cartridges through Office Max "
- Recycling industrial batteries
with Shostack Iron and Metal Recyclers
- Recycling pallets
After researching other simple,
effective ways to go green, Oram also plans to:
- Recycle paper
- Crush and sell aluminum
cans
- Separate non-ferrous and
ferrous metals for sale to scrap metal companies
A little internet research
has provided several other ways any company, whether large or small, can
prevent unnecessary waste in the business world:
- Make 2-sided copies and
use 2-way envelopes for internal correspondence
- Reuse all packing materials,
from boxes to bubble wrap
- Repair and reuse wooden
pallets and spools
- Make email the communication
method of choice
By developing a policy that involves all employees in "Recyle, Repair, Reuse"
any business can make a positive impact on the environment, and "Go Green".
