Oram

In the 1870's Oram Wagon
Works was one of the leading builders of wagons, carriages and buggies
in the Midwest. Although great uncle Harry Oram's main competitor
was the Studebaker brothers, the two companies often partnered together
to fill large wagon orders for the U.S. Army. An original Oram grain
wagon is on display today in the equipment showroom at Oram's corporate
headquarters in Kansas City.
The company became one
of the early dealers for Datsun Forklifts (now NISSAN
FORKLIFTS) and expanded to become one of the oldest and largest
NISSAN FORKLIFT dealers in
North America. During the past 29 years, on 10 separate occasions,
Oram has been the recipient of the prestigious Nissan Nine Dealer
of Excellence Award, recognizing the top nine dealers who have achieved
the highest standards of excellence.
As the company's capabilities
and customer base expanded, Oram added new brands of lift trucks
to its fleet. The Linde lift truck in 2005 and the Jungheinrich
and Heli lift trucks on 2007. In addition to new lift trucks, new
services were developed such as our Storage
Systems
Design, Advantage
Long Term Rental Program and our On
Line Catalog for more convenient internet acquisition of Storage
& Handling Products, all with the goal of becoming a one
stop, full service resource for our customers.
